Co-Organizers

Aldo José Gorgatti Zarbin, Department of Chemistry - UFPR (aldo@quimica.ufpr.br )

Description

The symposium welcomes all researchers in the field of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. Brazilian and Mexican researchers, in particular, are invited to participate in the symposium as a way of identifying partners and potential collaborative projects between Brazil and Mexico, following the collaborative research program launched in 2009 by Ministry of Science and Technology of Brazil (MCT) and Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas do México (CONACYT).

Research on Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies (N&N) has benefited from breakthrough technologies, including the development of new/hybrid materials and possibility of nanoscale manipulation. The development of new nanotechnological tools, in particular, has brought tremendous advances in materials science with novel materials being produced with unique properties. Research in this field is inherently multidisciplinary, and efforts have focused primarily on the development of new materials, in which control over specific, improved properties may be achieved at the molecular level. This Symposium was conceived to cover all the topics related with the design, synthesis, characterization and processing of nanomaterials for technological applications.
