SYMPOSIUM H The increase in the energetic dependence coupled with the global economic safety call for a great need in developing new technologies applied to new materials manufacture. Catalyst materials can be used in various applications, with emphasis on the immediate need to produce and process new catalyst materials to obtain clean energy. As a result, there is a fundamental need for applied innovative research into catalytic materials as well as structural architectures to module selectivity to product specifications, in order to promote not only quality but also reduced energetic costs. This symposium emphasizes the production of promising catalyst materials by different methods as well as catalyst structural features, including nanoporous and mesoporous materials, adsorbents, structured and nanostrutured catalyst oxides, synthesis and processing of catalyst materials, materials characterization by XPS, EXAFS and XAS as well as other techniques.
