SIMPÓSIO A Organic Electronics could be considered as a part of the new scientific vision of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and nowadays is one of the most strategic areas for the technological development of many countries. In this new form of electronics molecular materials with specific functions could substitute silicon components in the electronic circuits. Molecular transistors and organic electroluminescent devices (OLEDs) are two examples of how the organic electronics can fabricate macroscopic objects starting from atoms and molecules manipulation. Recently, big efforts were made in the comprehension of physical and chemical properties of the supramolecular materials and in the control and fabrication of their structures starting from techniques which constitute the so called “physics of the fragile matter”. New challenges in the research on the processes of the charge injection, charge transportation, fast optical transitions and energy transfer mechanism, together with new applications makes of this area a fascinating research field. Synthesis and theoretical modeling of new organic compounds, investigation on new composite and blends and ordered molecular systems are also welcome in the symposium.
Keywords: Organic semiconductors, supramolecular chemistry, organic electronics. Specific topics of interest include, but are not limited to Symposium organizers Marcos Cremona (DF/PUC-Rio) Celso Melo (DF/UFPE)
