In total, eight professors, six students and one company were awarded in the various categories. The award was presented on October 20 in a ceremony held at the Institute of Chemistry of the University of S\u00e3o Paulo (USP).<\/p>\n<p>The winners were chosen through a process that involved nominating candidates by the Nanocell Institute site users, that community`s online voting, and voting by a pool of researchers (members of scientific committees, foundations, associations and societies).<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cScientist and Entrepreneur of the Year Award\u201d is sponsored by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.institutonanocell.org.br\/#\/\">Nanocell Institute<\/a>, a non-governmental organization whose mission is \u201cto promote science and education, developing technology and innovation for social welfare\u201d and the Brazilian Society of Cellular Signaling (SBSC).
