\nFeatured paper with Brazilian participation<\/h3>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

A team of three scientists managed to identify defects of atomic dimensions<\/strong> which exist in thin films of zinc oxide<\/strong>, through an interesting experiment, using the luminescence<\/strong> capability of this material. Initially, they prepared films with various quantities and types of defects and, systematically, they excited the samples, measured luminescence and related these data with the defects that had been introduced. The experiment was conceived and performed by a Brazilian researcher, using photon-scanning tunneling microscopy in Germany. The results have been published in\u00a0The Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters<\/strong>. More.<\/a><\/p>\n
