The Executive Board that will manage B-MRS during the 2026-2027 biennium took office on January 6th of this year during an Ordinary General Assembly held online. On that occasion, the results of the electoral process concluded in October of last year were ratified, which elected the new Board and four new members of the Deliberative Council. The new Board reflects the geographical, gender, and knowledge area diversity that the Society has strived to maintain, and includes several members from the previous administration. Submissions.<\/b><\/span> Abstract submission is open until March 30th. <\/b>Read the guidelines for authors and access the submission system, here<\/b><\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Symposia.<\/b><\/span> Abstracts must be submitted within the 27 symposia that comprise the event. In addition to the 26 thematic symposia proposed by the community, the list includes the AA symposium, dedicated to posters on advanced materials topics not included in the other symposia. See the list of symposia.<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Venue.<\/b><\/span> The event will be held at the convention center UP Experience, in the city of Curitiba, capital of the state of Paran\u00e1. Visit the website of the center.<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Plenary lectures. <\/b><\/span>The names of six scientists from Australia, Brazil, Spain, Sweden, and the United States who will deliver plenary lectures at the event have already been confirmed. See here.<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

B-MRS members wrote a tribute to Prof. Heinz von Seggern. The distinguished German materials scientist, who was a Professor at TU Darmstadt, passed away on January 7th of this year. Prof. von Seggern interacted with researchers and groups in Brazil since the late 1970s, was a regular attendee of the B-MRS Meetings, and delivered a plenary lecture at the 2018 event.
