The event held in late September and early October this year in Santos had a record 1,777 participants from all continents and all regions of Brazil. In addition to 29 symposia, 7 plenary lectures and 4 short courses, there were several new features in the program. At the end of the event, 41 students were honored with the Bernhard Gross Award, 6 received prizes from ACS Publications and another 6 from the publisher of the Royal Society of Chemistry. In addition, 3 researchers won the prize and honorable mentions in the B-MRS Early Career Woman Scientist Prize.
