Description

Powder technology has continuously advanced in both scientific and industrial grounds. The constant progress in powder synthesis and processing plays an important role in widening the range of application of particulate materials, especially in major worldwide economic sectors. Both traditional and innovative particulate materials have largely contributed to the industrial development of numerous areas including building and construction industry, automotive and electro-mechanic components, structural and technical ceramics, electronics, appliances, and pigments, to name a few. The performance of particulate components is determined by a combination of aspects, mainly the nature and properties of starting materials, synthesis routes and fabrication methods, all employed in the production of engineering devices. In this context, the main objective of the present event is to promote a multidisciplinary environment suitable for the presentation and information exchange regarding recent advances and innovations on the synthesis, processing, characterization and applications of powdered materials and devices. Emphasis will be given on present and perspective applications of particulate materials. The scientific program of the symposium includes invited lecturers in addition to both oral and poster presentations covering the following relevant areas related to particulate materials.
