SYMPOSIUM L
MICROSCOPY APPLIED TO THE INDUSTRIAL WORLD

Co-sponsored by SBMM as part of MICROMAT 2006 (10th Brazilian Congress of Materials Microscopy)

Many microscopy techniques are absolutely mature and have been widely used in the industry. Microscopists that work in association with different industrial sectors are invited to share their experiences with various microscopy techniques. Optical Microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy, Transmission Electron Microscopy and their associated techniques will be covered during the symposium in order to discuss how these techniques are used to solve problems in the industrial world and how new developments may be helpful to the industrial interests. Efforts made in failure analysis and production standards will also be gladly welcome.

Papers from this Symposium will be published in a Special Issue of Journal of Materials Science

To be considered for this special issue, the Brazilian MRS paper number should precede the title of the paper on the manuscript. This number will be removed before publication.

The submission window for full manuscripts will be October 1 until November 30, 2006.

Journal of Materials Science Editors Grant Norton, Mark Aindow and Barry Carter will be present at the meeting to answer any questions.

All papers will be fully reviewed in the usual way. Symposia chairs will be sent a copy of each submitted paper
