SYMPOSIUM A
TRIBOLOGY AND SURFACE ENGINEERING
Tribology is the science and technology of interacting surfaces
in relative motion and the practices related thereto, or more simply: friction,
lubrication and wear. Since 1966, the interdisciplinary concept of Tribology
has spread throughout the world, leading now to 36 national Tribology Groups,
Societies and Associations closely linked to the International Tribology Council
(ITC).
The aim of this symposium is to present recent advances in Tribology and Surface
Engineering. This symposium intends to bring together researchers and practitioners
from around the country working in the field of tribology. The purpose is to
provide researchers with a forum to present their findings, to encourage collaborations
between tribology and other areas of knowledge, surface engineering in particular,
and to provide practitioners with a means to relate their experience and solutions
to specific tribological problems. The scientific program will include at least
one keynote lecture, oral presentations and posters.
This symposium invites practitioners, scientists and students
from different areas such as engineering, chemistry, physics, biology, medicine
and dentistry to present and discuss their findings in tribology, and especially
on the following topics:
