SYMPOSIUM A - NANOSTRUCTURED MATERIALS: SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND THEORY

This symposium will address the synthesis, characterization and theory of nanostructured materials, with special focus on nanoparticles and nanowire processing and it potential application as nanoscale building blocks for electronics, optical, biological and chemical application. We are encouraging also studies related to the design of nanoscale materials important in alternative energy devices.

Paper regarding preparation, characterization, processing, modeling and assembly of nanoscale building blocks are solicited in, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Semiconductor nanoparticles (Quantum dots) synthesis;

  • Metallic nanoparticles synthesis and processing;

  • Electronic and optical spectroscopy characterization of nanostructured materials;

  • Synthesis of carbon nanotubes and semiconductors nanowire and nanobelts;

  • Application of nanostructured materials in biological systems;

  • Modeling of growth and properties of nanostructured materials;

  • Impact of nanostructured materials in alternative energy devices;

  • Nanostructured materials for alternative energy devices: synthesis, characterization and properties.

Keywords: nanostructured materials.
