Symposium F

Materials science at high-pressure conditions

Scope of the Symposium

After the first successful edition at Campinas, in 2016, this symposium hopes to consolidate an interdisciplinary meeting for discussing recent trends and developments in the science of materials submitted to extreme conditions of pressure. The proposal is bring together basic and applied researchers working in this field, using high-pressure in a broad spectrum of approaches, including: study of basic materials properties, induction of electronic, magnetic and structural changes, production of novel materials, development of materials processing and analytical techniques, theoretical modeling and use of the state of the art computational tools. The symposium is a special opportunity to convene the Brazilian and Latin American high-pressure community which will organize, in 2019, the AIRAPT - International Conference on High Pressure Science and Technology, which will be held for the first time in the south hemisphere.

Abstracts will be solicited in (but not limited to) the following areas

  • Electronic, magnetic and transport properties
  • Superconductivity and correlated phenomena
  • Crystallography at extreme conditions
