Welcome

The Brazilian Materials Research Society (B-MRS) and the Organizing Committee of the B-MRS Meeting warmly invite the global materials research community to attend the 2026 Meeting, to be held at the UP Experience Convention Center in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil, from September 27th to October 1st, 2026.

This traditional forum is dedicated to discussing recent advances and future perspectives in materials science and related technologies. It provides an excellent opportunity for scientists, engineers, and students from academia and industry to exchange ideas, strengthen collaborations, and explore the latest developments in the field of Materials Science.

The capital of Paraná state, Curitiba, is one of Brazil’s most innovative and well-planned cities. Located in the Southern Region of Brazil, on the “First Plateau” of Paraná, Curitiba is renowned for its pioneering urban planning, environmental initiatives, and high quality of life. The city’s cultural identity reflects the influence of diverse immigrant communities, including Japanese, European (particularly German, Polish, Italian, and Ukrainian), and Middle Eastern settlers, whose traditions have deeply shaped its cuisine, festivals, and architecture. Surrounded by parks, botanical gardens, and preserved green areas, Curitiba—often called Brazil’s “green capital”—harmoniously blends innovation, multicultural heritage, and respect for the environment, making it a global model of sustainable urban living.
